Addie Jane
I'm sorry or the delay in posting this here! But we've been quite busy with our beautiful little baby girl. :) Here's a post I made on a forum of mine the day she was born. :)
Finally! She made her appearance last night at 1:04 am on October 28th. My contractions finally got regular and more intense yesterday evening. Although even at 9:45, we told the midwife to go to bed and that we were going to do the same. Although, I never went. We called her back at 11:15 to tell her the contractions were every 4 min and getting more intense. She got here at 11:50 pm probably and checked me a little after midnight and I was 6 or 7 cm dilated with a bulging bag of waters. I was laboring in my room at this point, kneeling next to the bed and the contrax were every 2 min or so. My water finally broke around 12:50 am and the 2nd midwife got there a couple of minutes later. We woke Emma up and brought my mom in with her and they got to be there for the birth. :) The pushing was very intense and very strange since I was still kneeling. I didn't feel like getting up on the bed. So I had one knee down and one foot on the floor. Everyone was behind me so they all got the bird's eye view of her coming out face down like a good girl. :) It was incredibly intense and not something I need to ever do again. :) LOL
The great thing about homebirth is that it is so calm (once I stopped screaming:) and peaceful. They don't rush the baby off to weigh and measure right away. I got to hold her right away and then we somehow got me on the bed (with the cord still attached). Once it stopped pulsing, Emma cut the cord. She was so proud of herself. It was awesome. And then the baby nursed and eventually we got around to weighing her. She had already peed and pooped some as she was coming out, so the weight was pretty accurate. So she was 8 lbs and 21 inches long! Our biggest baby! And for only gaining 25 lbs, I'm shocked. :) And her name is Addely Jane (Addie for short).
The midwives gave her a 9 apgar, since her coloring was so good and she cried right away. She's a very strong girl and already pretty good at nursing. :) So, we're just hanging out and relaxing, as much as we can with Tailyn running around like crazy and Emma absolutely obsessed with her. It's so nice to be in my own bed, eating my own food and not having to worry about getting kids back and forth to the hospital. :) I'm loving this part. :)
