40 Weeks Pregnant!
Wow - here I am still pregnant! I never thought I'd make it this far. But this baby is making no signs of wanting to appear. So I thought I'd update my blog because I've been so busy!
We are officially in our new house! And we are loving it. We moved in on October 2nd and furiously unpacked as much as could. It took a week to get my washer and dryer. But once I did, I did laundry for at least 8 hours! I had so much to wash, it wasn't even funny. But I was so happy to use my new high-efficiency front loader with my Bio-kleen laundry powder. So great to know that I'm using so much less water and using a product that is so good for us and for the environment.
The kitchen is still under construction, but almost done. I can't wait! We were only able to unpack a fourth of the kitchen (only 5 plates, etc). So, I cannot wait to unpack the rest of it! But the contractor just has a little drywall work left to be done. So, we are really looking forward to that. And then he'll start on the back porch to close it in for our family room. Who knows how long that will take. But we're already resigned to living in construction for awhile.
So, back to the baby. I've got everything all ready for the birth. It's all stacked up in our bedroom. It takes a lot more planning for a homebirth, in some respects. I had a bunch of stuff that I had to get together that would normally be available at the hospital. But it was nice not having to pack the overnight bag and worrying about all that. I did have to get the baby's clothes together so we wouldn't be scrambling for those once she's born. It's very exciting. :)
And I'm starting to get stared at when I'm out. And people are not afriad to tell me that it looks like I have a basketball under my shirt or that I'm definitely having a girl since I'm carrying so low or it looks like you're due any minute. I love telling people that I'm due today. :)
Hopefully I'll be posting a birth announcement soon! My midwife keeps reminding me that every day is a day closer to the birth. She can't stay in there forever! :)
