My Day...

No real health discoveries here or anything. Just had to vent about my day today and what a joke it was!

Today was our home inspection and I've really been looking forward to it - mainly because it was the first time I could get into the house since the contract was signed. So I could really look around since it was going to be "mine!" But, unfortunately, the home inspection became not so important.

My prenatal appt was rescheduled from yesterday until this morning at 9:30 am (just before I was supposed to be at the house). So, just as I pull up to the curb at her house, I hit the sewer part of the curb and gauged the tire! I could hear the air hissing out of it. Awesome! Fortunately, we have Honda Roadside Assistance (remind me to renew that when it runs out!) and I called them to come and change the tire for me, b/c there was no way I could do that right now. Of course, then it hit me, we can't find the wheel lock key. Stupid Honda thinks that the minivan tires are in pretty high demand by all those tire thieves out there. And you have to have the key to get it off. We have no idea where it is!

So anyway, I couldn't think about that because I needed to go in for my prenatal appointment which was not very fun since I had both kids and both were not letting me talk or pay any attention to what was going on. And my phone kept ringing with Honda calling me back telling me when they were going to be there.

So, after the appointment, I called my mom because I had a sinking feeling that I wasn't going to get my tire changed, but was going to get towed. :( Fortunately, she was only 10 min away and was waiting for my call anyway to go to the inspection with me. Sure enough, the tow truck guy confirmed what I was afraid of - we couldn't change the tire without taking it to the shop and manually removing it. Lovely.

He towed the car away and we headed to the house for the remainder of the inspection. (We had to send my dad there who happened to be working from home to pay the inspector just in case he left before I could get there.) But we made it there in time and got the details of the inspection (nothing that's a deal breaker, fortunately!).

Meanwhile, the tire place called to say that they didn't have my tire in stock! So, they put the spare on (which is only a donut). We ended up taking the car to Wal-mart to get the tire replaced. And 2 hours later - it was good as new! And it only cost me $230! $70 for the tow, $25 to remove the lock on the wheel and $130 for the new tire ($10 was for the tire warranty!). :)

It was a great day!!! Forutnately, my parents were awesome and they totally came to my rescue, since my husband has been out of town since Saturday and I've been on my own. No pressure for someone who is 32 weeks pregnant! :)

Oh dear! I rememeber those days - always with two in tow and being pregnant....not easy. WHat's up with Honda and the wheel lock?!! As if we don't have enough to contend with. Hang in there Meg - I'm sending strength and calming thoughts your way :)
